Medical Experts: Something Fishy About CA Cop Exposure To Fentanyl Viral Video ‘Zero Chance’

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Questions are being raised about a video which shows a San Diego sheriff’s deputy collapsing after what was said to be an accidental exposure to fentanyl.

Medical experts are saying that fentanyl, a powerful opioid, is not transmitted through the air or by incidental contact with the skin in sufficient amounts to cause a reaction like that displayed in the video, according to ABC7.

They added that the symptoms displayed by the deputy in the video are not consistent with those shown during the typical overdose on opioids and more consistent with an Oscar-worthy performance.

“I would say there’s zero chance that it was caused by fentanyl exposure in this case,” professor Leo Beletsky with the University of San Diego medical school told KGTV.

The bodycam video released by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department shows a trainee falling backwards on the ground as he and another deputy are processing drugs at the scene of an arrest.
