JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Joanne LaShay Jackson, of Bessemer, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night shooting in Jefferson County.
Jackson, 21, was fatally shot near Bessemer Wednesday night.
According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 2800 block of Carolina Terrace in Bessemer. When they arrived, Jackson was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds around 9:15 p.m. Friday.
Jackson was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
According to officials, the killing happened during a reported domestic incident.
As of Thursday morning, no one had been taken into custody.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
