CECIL COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Diane Fanning Byrne, of Earleville, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday morning vehicle crash in Cecil County.
Byrne, 53, was killed in a single-vehicle SUV crash near Chesapeake City Thursday morning.
According to reports, Byrne was operating a Subaru Forester in the 3000 block of Augustine Herman Highway in Chesapeake City, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over.
Bryne, who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, died of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
