MONROE COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Orlando Gates, of Aberdeen, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night vehicle crash in Monroe County.
Gates, 43, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Aberdeen Wednesday night.
According to reports, Gates was operating a pickup truck on Highway 145 north of Aberdeen, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over near the National Guard Armory.
Gates was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
