FL Man Colbs Holtz ID’d As Victim In Saturday Lakeland Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Colby Holtz, of Lakeland, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday vehicle crash in Polk County.

“Colbs” Holtz, 27, was killed and another man injured in a single-vehicle crash near Lakeland early Saturday.

According to reports, Holtz was operating a Ford Taurus on North Galloway Road near Hawks Ridge Drive in Lakeland, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2:15 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then made contact with a guidewire, a tree and a chain link fence. Finally coming to a rest in a Hawks Ridge Drive backyard area.

Holtz was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Dylan Still, of Lakeland, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
