In March of 2010, Patrick Dapolito, 50, of Limington, Maine, a relative of Robert Dapolito, also shot and killed his wife, 30-year-old Kelly Winslow-Dapolito.

At the time, Patrick Dapolito, who stood trial on his wife’s murder, recounted that he contemplated suicide twice on the day he shot his wife claiming he sat in the tub with the gun but didn’t want his daughter to discover his body.

Patrick Dapolito was eventually sentenced to 55 years in prison for Kelly’s murder.

Maine State Police confirmed the two Dapolito men were in fact related, and they’re still investigating their familial relationship.

The cause of the current case remains under investigation.
