WILKES COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Marc Brantley, of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday murder-suicide in Wilkes County. Mickey Davis, of Purlear, North Carolina, has been identified as the deceased shooter.

Brantley, 51, was fatally shot outside a Millers Creek residence Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at a residence located at, 4216 Boone Trail in Millers Creek Sunday around 12:30 p.m. When they arrived, Brantley was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the residence. Police then located 64-year-old Davis suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Brantley was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

Davis was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
