WHITE COUNTY, AR. (THECOUNT) — Jake Smith, of Beebe, Arkansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday night vehicle crash in White County.
Smith, 19, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Rose Bud Thursday night.
According to reports, Neena Reed, 65, was operating a GMC Acadia on Highway 5 near Valleyview Rd in Rose Bud, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then made contact with Smith’s Chevy Malibu.
Smith, originally from Lehi, Utah, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Reed was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Three passengers traveling in Smith’s vehicle, McKay Jurges, 18, Eli Sutherland, 19 and Gavin Hatch, 18, were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
