DES MOINES COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Gustabo Salcedo, of Des Moines, Iowa and Diana Sanchez Tello, of West Des Moines, have been identified as the victims in a Saturday morning triple-fatal vehicle crash in Des Moines County.
Salcedo, 28, and 24-year-old Tello, were both killed along with an infant in a wrong-way crash involving a semi-tractor early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Salcedo was operating a Volkswagen Golf the wrong way when he entered Exit 142 of Interstate 80 around 12:50 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a big-rig.
The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.
The couple and an unnamed infant were all killed at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
