MITCHELL COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Jake Golightly, from Neches, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal vehicle crash in Mitchell County.
Golightly, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Colorado City Monday evening.
According to reports, Darren Heady, 22, was operating a pickup truck on Interstate 20 in Colorado City, when for unknown reasons, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a guardrail.
Golightly, a passenger in the pickup was ejected along with Heady during the crash.
Heady and a second passenger, Jimmy L. Gonzalez, 25, of Carthage, were both transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Golightly was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
