QUEBEC, CAN. (THECOUNT) — A suspect has been arrested Sunday after the overnight stabbing of multiple people in the historic district of Quebec. Two people have been confirmed dead with several other transported with unknown stab wound injuries.
The deadly incident occurred Saturday evening around 10:30 p.m. near historic Old Quebec.
According to CBC News, two people had been stabbed to death and five people injured by an unidentified mid-20s man who was wearing a medieval outfit and weilding a sword.
Officials searched for the suspect for several hours before taking him into custody around 1 a.m. in the city’s Old Port.
Five people were injured during the attack and were transported to area hospital with various injuries, Quebec Police confirmed on Sunday morning.
The suspect was also taken to a local hospital. His condition has not been released by officials.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
