DESOTO PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Chanell Stephens and Ayden Ware, of Columbia, South Carolina, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal single-vehicle crash Thursday night in DeSoto Parish Louisiana.
Stephens, 48, and 6-year-old Ware, were both killed in a Thursday night single-semi crash near Natchitoches Parish.
According to reports, Patrick Burns, 48, of Denton, Texas, was operating a Freightliner 18-wheeler on Interstate 49, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and rolled over.
All three occupants of the truck were ejected during the crash.
Burns suffered unknown injuries in the crash.
Stephens and the child were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
