POLK COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Bounleua Tot Lovan, of Des Moines, Iowa, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday night motorcycle collision involving a suspected stolen vehicle in Polk County.

Lovan, 51, was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a suspect operating a stolen vehicle near Des Moines Sunday night.

According to reports, Lovan was operating a motorcycle on MLK Jr. Parkway in Des Moines, when the bike collided with a vehicle operated by a 52-year-old driver who then attempted to flee the scene around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver was taken into custody a short time later after crashing a second time.

Officials later learned that the vehicle had been stolen.

Lovan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was also was transported and remained hospitalized with unknown injuries as of Monday morning.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
