LAKE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Terrance Turner, of Gary, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night shooting in Lake County.

Turner, 24, was fatally shot outside a residence near Gary on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Turner was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 1200 block of Montana Street in Gary around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Turner was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.

Turner’s manner of death was listed as a homicide.

Police say they are working to take a person of interest into custody.

Police asked anyone with possible information on the deadly incident to contact the Lake County/Gary Metro Homicide Unit at 219-755-3855.

The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
