LEEDS, AL. (THECOUNT) — Ariel Collins, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday morning crash near Leeds.

Collins, 24, was killed Wednesday in a head-on crash in Leeds.

According to reports, Collins was operating a vehicle on Parkway Drive in Leeds, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle the collided head-on with a van.

Collins was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

Possible injuries for the van driver were not provided by officials.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
