RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Jones, of Palm Springs, California, has been identified as the bicyclist in a fatal hit-and-run vehicle strike in Riverside County Thursday morning.
Chris Jones, 43, was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning near Desert Hot Springs.
According to reports, Jones was operating a bicycle in the area of Two Bunch Palms Trail, when he was struck and killed by a Lexus IS250 at around 5:30 a.m.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Police are seeking a suspect operating a maroon, 2006-2009 Lexus IS250 similar to the one pictured below:
The vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Two Bunch Palms Trail towards Little Morongo Road.
