SEVIER COUNTY, AR. (THECOUNT) — Bernard Edwards III, of Nashville, Arkansas, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday double-fatal crash involving a minor driver in Sevier County.
Edwards, 22, was killed along with an unnamed minor near De Queen on Sunday.
According to reports, Edwards was traveling as a passenger in a Honda Civic, operated by a minor, on State Highway 41 in De Queen, when for unknown reasons, the Honda crossed centerlines and into opposing traffic around 6 a.m. Sunday. The Honda then came into contact with a Chevy Silverado.
The minor and Edwards were both pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
A passenger in the minor’s vehicle, Quentin Witherspoon, 22, of Fulton, Arkansas, suffered unknown injuries in the collision and was transported to an area hospital.
No one inside the Chevy injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
