McLean County, IL. (THECOUNT) — Richard Dick Gaunt Jr, of Morton, Illinois, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Tuesday afternoon vehicle collision in McLean County.
Gaunt, 57, was fatally struck by a vehicle while on Interstate 74 near Carlock on late Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Gaunt was securing a load on a semi-tractor on I-74, when he was struck by a pickup truck on I-74 in Carlock around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
It’s unclear why the pickup truck driver exited the roadway.
Gaunt was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
