BOYD COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Donald Wheeler of Ashland, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday morning moped crash in Boyd County.
Wheeler, 46, was killed in a single-moped crash near Ashland Friday morning.
According to reports, Wheeler was operating a moped in the 3900 block of Skyline Drive in Ashland, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 3 a.m. Friday. The vehicle then made contact with a utility pole.
Wheeler was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
