WAYNE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Robbie Lanter of Fountain City Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal vehicle crash in Wayne County.
Lanter, 54, was killed following a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor, operated by Justin Rankin, 38, of Muncie, Indiana, near Fountain City on Wednesday.
According to reports, Lanter was operating a pickup truck on U.S. 27 near Bockhofer Road in Fountain City, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig Wednesday around 8 a.m.
Lanter was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.
Rankin was uninjured in the crash, however, was transported to an area hospital for a blood draw.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
