ADAIR COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Jagjit Singh of Madera, California, has been identified as the victim in a single-semi truck crash in Adair County, Iowa Tuesday night.
Singh, 26, was killed after a big-rig crashed on Interstate 80 near Adair Tuesday night.
According to reports, Jagjit Singh was traveling in a Freightliner semi-tractor, operated by 52-year-old Jaspal Singh of Sacramento, California, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited I-80 around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The 18-wheeler then entered a culvert and rolled over.
Jagjit Singh, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Jaspal Singh, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
