LANCASTER COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Melissa Otto of Lititz, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash in Lancaster County on Sunday.
Otto, 50, was killed while riding as a passenger on a motorcycle traveling on PA-125 when she was killed Sunday in East Cameron Township.
According to reports, 53-year-old Jay Otto was operating a BMW RS motorcycle with his passenger, Melissa, when the bike crash in some loose gravel and rolled over on PA-125 near Boyers Grove Rd in East Cameron Township around 12 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Both riders were thrown from the bike.
Jay Otto was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Melissa, who had recently celebrated her 50th birthday, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries. She was originally from Santa Rosa, California.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
