COOK COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Kristine M. Kilmer of Lake Forest, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night two-vehicle fatal crash in Cook County.
Kilmer, 45, was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle head-on crash that left another woman seriously injured near Winnetka.
According to reports, Kilmer was operating a Volvo vehicle on I-94 near Tower Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and rolled over into opposing lanes Saturday around 9:40 p.m. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with an Infinity operated by 32-year-old Laura K. Burdick of Indianapolis.
Burdick was transported to an area hospital with serious unknown injuries.
Kilmer was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
