‘Jurassic World’ Actor Irrfan Khan Dies In Mumbai At 54

MUMBAI, INDIANA. (THECOUNT) — Irrfan Khan, perhaps best known for portraying the police inspector in hit movie, “Slumdog Millionaire,” has died after a bout with a colon infection.

Khan, who also had roles in “Jurassic World,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” and the fantasy “Life of Pi,” died Wednesday after being admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai with a colon infection.

Khan was diagnosed in 2018 with a rare neuroendocrine cancer and underwent months of treatment in the United Kingdom.

The Bollywood actor made his screen debut in the Academy Award-nominated 1988 drama “Salaam Bombay!,” a tale of Mumbai’s street children. He later worked with directors Mira Nair, Wes Anderson and Ang Lee.

He is survived by his wife, television writer and producer Sutapa Sikdar, and sons, Babil and Ayan, to Looptt.
