PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Bobby Joe Collins, of Danville, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a motorcycle crash Friday night in Pittsylvania County.
Collins, 30, died following a motorcycle wreck on Friday night in Danville.
According to the Danville Police Department, Collins, who they report was 39 years old, was operating a motorcycle on Piney Forest Road in Danville, when for unknown reasons, the bike exited the roadway and made contact with a curb around 8 p.m. Friday.
Collins, who was ejected from the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at an area hospital of blunt force trauma.
Police interviewed a driver of a Chevy Camaro who they say may have been racing with collins at the time of the crash. That case remains under investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
