URBANA, MD. (THECOUNT) — Eric M. Sugrowe, of Ellicott City, Maryland, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on Interstate 270 Thursday afternoon.
Sugrowe, 25, was on-foot in the area of I-270 in Urbana when he was struck by a passing big-rig Thursday.
According to Maryland State Police, Sugrowe was walking on the shoulder for unknown reasons, when he was struck and killed by a Freightliner truck hauling two trailers in the northbound lanes of I-270.
Sugrowe was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
