LINCOLN COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Robert Cornelius has been identified as the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Lincoln County, North Carolina on Wednesday evening.
Cornelius, 21, was killed in a two vehicle crash near Ironton Wednesday evening.
According to officials, Cornelius was operating a Chevrolet Geo Prizm traveling on Buffalo Shoals Road near Poarch Road, when he failed to yield the right of way to a Ford F-150 pickup truck around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver of the Ford, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Cornelius was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
No charges are expected to be filed and no one was cited at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
