LE FLORE COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Jace Hamner, of Heavener, Oklahoma, has been identified as the Hoggen, Oklahoma road worker involved in a fatal workplace incident Thursday in Le Flore County.
Hamner, 19, was killed after being run over by a steamroller while working on a roadway near Hodgen on Thursday.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Hamner was operating a Ingersoll Rand pavement roller, when he exited the machinery to clean asphalt off the wheels. At some point, he tripped or fell in front of the construction vehicle and was run over around 11 a.m. Thursday near Hodgen.
The exact location of the incident was not provided.
Hamner was pronounced dead at the scene of massive injuries.
The cause of the death remains under investigation.
