CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Gretchen Francey, of North Charleston, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim along with a child in a Tuesday morning murder-suicide.

Francey, 40, and 4-year-old Liam Francey, were found shot dead in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday morning in Charleston County.

According to officials, police responded to 2664 Leeds Ave in North Charleston after receiving a report about an unresponsive woman and a child inside the residence.

First responders gained access to the dwelling and discovered Francey and the boy suffering from gunshot injuries. A weapon was found nearby.

Both victims were pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Police determined that Francey shot the boy before turning the gun on herself.
