LA Woman Melinda Harrington ID’d As Victim In Overnight Fatal Kaplan Crash

KAPLAN, LA. (THECOUNT) — Melinda Harrington, of Abbeville, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal overnight two-vehicle crash in Vermilion Parish.

Harrington, 62, was killed in a late Tuesday night two-vehicle crash in Kaplan.

According to reports, Meaux was operating a vehicle on Veterans Memorial Dr near Huckleberry Road, when a vehicle driven by Michael Savoy, of Kaplan, crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then made head-on contact with Harrington’s vehicle.

Savoy, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Harrington, who was restrained, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
