6 Shot, Including Little Girl During Wednesday Night Fatal Tulare CA ‘Celebration Of Life’ Service

TULARE, CA. (THECOUNT) — Six people were shot, one of those fatally, after shot rang out at a “Celebration of Life” service in Tulare, California Wednesday night.

A 23-year-old man was killed in the shooting and five others, including a 7-year-old girl, were injured by gunfire. The little girl was shot “multiple times,” and remains hospitalized as of Thursday morning.

Tulare Police say, around 50-60 people were gathered for the service when when an unidentified suspect walked up and opened fire on the crowd.

The deadly incident occurred in the area of W. Tulare Ave and I St, in Tulare, California.

In all, six people – three men, two women and a 7-year-old girl – were struck by the gunfire.

The child was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital and is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds. She is expected to survive, reports ABC30.

Three of the other four adults injured are being treated at Kaweah Delta Medical Center and Tulare Adventist Health. Police say they are also expected to be OK.

The fourth adult victim, a woman, was grazed by a bullet and refused to go to the hospital, police say.

Tulare police have not released any suspect information at this time. Authorities say the motive for the shooting is unknown.
