PERRY TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Matthew J. Baker, of Perry, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday morning Perry Township crash, according to Ohio Highway Patrol.
Baker 23, was killed while operating a vehicle on US-20 near Lake County early Sunday.
According to reports, Baker was traveling on OH-20, when an SUV, for unknown reasons, exited the roadway and into opposing lanes around 3 a.m. Sunday. The SUV then collided with Barker’s vehicle.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the SUV and her passenger were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.
No one involved was wearing their seatbelt, reports FOX8.
The patrol said alcohol is believed to be a factor but did not say if anyone was cited at the scene.
The occupants of the SUV were not identified.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
