ABBEVILLE, SC. (THECOUNT) — John Albert Williams Jr., has been identified as the victim killed in an early Friday morning vehicle crash in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
Williams, 61, died in a head-on crash Friday morning in Abbeville County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 1:30 a.m. Friday morning on Highway 72 after a Hyundai, operated by Williams, crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle then struck a Toyota Camry head-on.
Williams, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camry was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to the hospital with what troopers call life-threatening injuries, reports WYFF.
The injured victim has not been identified by officials.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
