EL PASO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Alonso Chacon has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in east El Paso Saturday night. We are now learning that he has since passed away on Christmas eve, according to multiple reports.
According to officials, Chacon, 36, was in a “non-designated area” when he was struck by a 2017 Chevy Sonic.
Police released no further information on the incident, only to say the investigation is ongoing.
Police officers were called to reports of a man down on 8000 Gateway East, near Lafayette, around 9:30 p.m.
Chacon was transported Saturday to an area hospital where he passed away from his injuries Tuesday.
