COFFEYVILLE, KS. (THECOUNT) — Robert Jackson, of Coffeyville, Kansas, has been identified as the victim killed in a vehicle crash involving a high speed pursuit in southeast Kansas on Monday night, according to reports.
“Scotty” Jackson, 24, was killed while operating a Dodge Ram 2500 during a police pursuit in southeast Kansas on Monday night around 11:30 p.m.
The fatal crash occurred 4550 Road about four miles north of Coffeyville.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says, officers were in pursuit of a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed, when the road switched from pavement to gravel.
Jackson lost control of his pickup and entered a culvert and collided with a grouping of trees.
Jackson was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning, reports KAKE.
It is unknown why officials were attempting to conduct a traffic stop.
