HINDS COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — John A. Lumbley Jr, of Vicksburg, has been identified as the victim in an early morning crash in Hinds County, according to Monday reports.
Lumbley, 24, was involved in a single-vehicle crash around 1 a.m. on Highway 27 near Edwards, MS, reports MHP.
According to officials, Lumbley was operating a Mitsubishi Endeavor on Highway 27, near Charlie Brown Road, in Edwards, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over before coming into contact with a substantial tree.
Lumbley, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
