WOODBRIDGE, NJ. (THECOUNT) — The three victims in an early Saturday morning triple-fatal crash near Woodbridge, New Jersey, have been identified as, Brianna Martinez, Michaela Powell and Uchectukw Chukwuma, all of Somerset.
Martinez, 23, was operating a Nissan Altima on Route 1 near Woodbridge when the fatal crash occurred Saturday morning.
According to reports, Martinez’s vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Route 1 in Woodbridge around midnight, police said early Saturday.
The accident occurred on the highway in the Fords section of town, reports NBCNY.
A big-rig truck was stopped at a red light when the Nissan struck it in the rear.
23-year-old Powell and 24-year-old Chukwuma, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Martinez was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
