FL Woman Roxy Castro ID’d As Victim In Fatal Wednesday Lehigh Acres Single-Vehicle Crash

LEHIGH ACRES, FL. (THECOUNT) — Roxana Castro has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash in Lehigh Acres early Wednesday morning, according to reports.

“Roxy” Castro was traveling as a passenger when she was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Lee Boulevard & Colin Avenue North in Lehigh Acres.

According to FHP, 23-year-old Andy Gonzalez was operating a Honda CRV on Lee Boulevard around 12:45 a.m., when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then came to a rest after striking several trees.

Officials say, Castro’s seat became detached from the car during the violent crash which literally split the Honda in two.

Gonzalez was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Castro was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Lee Boulevard was closed in both directions between Brian Avenue N. and Colin Avenue N. from 1 a.m. through 6:48 a.m., reports NBC2.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
