BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI. (THECOUNT) — Richelle Katherine Lazarus, of Burlington, Michigan, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday vehicle crash, according to reports.

Lazarus, 49, was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash near 11 Mile Road and Q-Drive South in Burlington Township, say officials.

Troopers responded to 11 Mile Road around 3 A.M. on reports of a single-vehicle crash. When they arrived, first responders discovered a Ford Ranger wrecked near Q-Drive in Burlington.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Lazarus, who was a passenger of the crashed vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Jeff Hammond, who is the husband of the victim, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Hammond was identified as the injured party via a social media posting. He has not official been identified as the injured individual.
