GOVE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Hugo Gonzalez, of Denver, Colorado, has been identified as the victim killed in a fiery crash Tuesday on I-70 in Gove County, Kansas, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
KHP says, Gonzalez, 52, died around 10:35 p.m. after a semi-truck collided with his a Chevrolet Silverado while traveling on I-70 at mile marker 107.
The pickup was then pushed across the westbound lanes and into the southern guard rail before catching fire, reports KWCH.
Gonzalez was pronounced dead on the scene of thermal and blunt force trauma.
The driver of the big rig was uninjured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
