ALBION, MI. (THECOUNT) — Zachary Winston, the brother of Michigan State University All-American, Cassius Winston, was killed after being struck by a train in Albion, say Sunday morning reports.
“Zach,” 19, was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Albion, sources confirmed Sunday morning.
A Wolverine Train 355 struck a pedestrian around 8:25 p.m. on the tracks near Erie Street in Albion. The Albion Department of Public Safety identified the victim as an Albion College student and said he family had been contacted, reports FREEP.
Zachary, who was a University of Detroit Jesuit High graduate and a sophomore on the Division III Albion men’s basketball team along with youngest brother, Khy, was killed after he was struck by a passing train in Lansing.
The Britons played Cassius and No. 1 MSU in an exhibition game on Oct. 29, but Zachary did not play due to an injury.
No further information on the deadly incident was provided by officials.
