OXFORD, IN. (THECOUNT) — Laura Hurst has been identified as the Oxford, Indiana woman found unresponsive Wednesday night with a snake wrapped around her neck, according to reports.

Hurst was found unresponsive after becoming the victim of an apparent constriction death involving a large python Wednesday in Oxford, according to reports.

The victim, who has not been identified, was found dead at a Oxford residence with a 8-foot python “around her neck” Wednesday night, Benton County police say.

Indiana State Police said Benton County Sheriff Don Munson found the woman inside the Oxford home, according to CBS4INDY.

It appeared the woman had been “killed by a reptile,” police confirmed.

ISP described the building as a “reptile home” that had been specifically set up to house snakes. According to the Journal & Courier, police found an eight-foot-long python around the woman’s neck.

Police said the woman’s cause of death would be officially determined during an autopsy that’s been scheduled for Friday.
