Phenix City Teen Rayshondre Tarver Reported Missing In 2017 Arrested In Columbus Double Murder

COLUMBUS, GA. (THECOUNT) — Rayshondre Tarver, a Phenix City teen who made local news reports in 2017 as the subject of a missing persons, has been identified as the suspect in a grisly double-murder in Columbus Oct 7.

Tarver, now 19, has been named as the suspect arrested in a shooting that left Montrell Johnson and Terreon Joseph dead on 32nd Avenue in Columbus on October 7th.

Tarver is charged with two counts of felony murder.

On Oct. 7 at approximately 11 p.m., Columbus police responded to the 200 block of 32nd Avenue in reference to a person being shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered two people dead with gunshots wounds. The victims were identified as Johnson and Joseph, reports WTVM.

The homicide investigation resulted in Tarver’s arrest.

Tarver is being held in the Muscogee County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. in Recorder’s Court.

In 2017, Phenix City police announced that they were searching for then 17-year-old Rayshondre Tarver.

The bulletin noted he was last seen on “Nov. 30” in 2017 and was believed to be in the Phenix City area.
