HALLE, GERMANY. (THECOUNT) — At least two people are dead after a a shooting at a synagogue in the city of Halle, Germany on Wednesday, police said.

Several shots were fired from a sub-machine gun which killed a woman and one other person, also injuring several other people, the Halle police and Insider reported.

A hand grenade was also reportedly thrown.

Police in Halle warned the perpetrator was fleeing in a car, and warned people in a tweet to “please stay in their apartments or find safe places.”
