#BREAKINGNEWS. (THECOUNT) — Sid Haig, the man best-known as the murderous clown, Captain Spaulding, has passed away aged 80, according to monday reports.
Director and musician, Rob Zombie, the man who made the movie perhaps Haig is best known, took to Instagram to pay his respects on Monday morning.
Zombie, born in 1965 as “Robert Bartleh Cummings,” posted an iconic photo of the actor on Insta:
The actor died on Saturday, September 21, according to an Instagram post by his wife Suzie, reports Kerrang.
“On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next,” reads the statement.
“He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.
“We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.
“Goodnight, my love. We will find each other again, next time. I love you.”
In 2015, the singer/filmmaker shared a look at a rare color promotional photo of Sid Haig from The Devil’s Rejects taking a mugshot.
Haig, best known for playing Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie “House of 1000 Corpses,” has been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit after suffering an unspecified accident.
Sid’s wife Suzie revealed the news via a message on his Instagram account.
The account has since been updated with a new message saying “Update coming soon. That is all for now. Please pray. Thank you all.” This echoes the request for prayers that came along with Suzie’s message, which fans of faith will likely readily provide, reports ihorror.
What exactly happened to Haig has yet to be revealed.
ihorror says, Haig’s condition certainly sounds serious, and one doesn’t go to the ICU for something minor. Of course, we can and should all continue to hope for the best for him and his family in this difficult time.
Haig is also known for his role in The Devil’s Rejects, as well as in the upcoming 3 From Hell. He’s appeared in well over 100 films over the course of his long Hollywood career though.
