Ron Stryker 103.9 The Bear Radio Host Dies Suddenly

SOUTH BEND, IN. (THECOUNT) — 103.9 The Bear Ron Stryker has died suddenly, the South Bend radio station said Wednesday.

The following was posted to the 103.9 The Bear Facebook page:

It is with incredible sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our friend and colleague Ron Stryker has passed away. Ron has been a part of 103.9 The Bear and Federated Media family as long as any of us can remember. His personality and passion are irreplaceable.

Out of respect for his family, friends and coworkers who are grieving his loss we are asking for privacy at this time.

A cause of death was not provided.

Striker attended to broadcasting school, Brown Institute, Minneapolis, now Brown College. Obtained my FCC license January 22nd, 1988. Interned at KJJO, KQRS, KDWB, ran satellite and did weather breaks at KDWB-A, at the same time worked at KDWA-A — not a typo. Other call letters include WHMH, WVAL/St. Cloud, KCLB/Palm Springs, News Talk 1010, Sports Talk KXPS and KYOR also in the Coachella Valley. 98 KUPD and AM 1060 the Deuce under Sandusky-now=Hubbard. And currently flying the Federated Media flag for the last 11 years.
