CA Man Anthony Gumina Arrested After Remains Of Missing Wife Heather Waters Found In El Dorado County

EL DORADO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Anthony Gumina has been identified as the man arrested in El Dorado County on Friday after the remains of his missing wife, Heather Waters, were found, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

Gumina, 44, was initially arrested on an outstanding no-bail warrant for domestic violence, officials said. Detectives later found what they believe are the remains of Heather Gumina, his wife, after conducting a search warrant in the Pleasant Valley area in El Dorado County, reports KCRA.

Heather Waters, also known as Heather Gumina, was reported missing July 19.

Anthony Gumina was arrested on homicide charges after detectives found the remains, officials said.

Earlier this week a black 2005 Infiniti G35 belonging to Missing El Dorado County woman Heather Gumina, was located by investigators on Friday. But the mother of three remains missing.

Waters, 33, has been missing from El Dorado County for nearly a month.

Gumina, aka, Heather Gumina Waters, was reported missing on July 16, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, who say they do not know where she was last seen, according to Fox8.

Police did not say where the car was located, only that it was found within the county and is now being forensically processed for evidence.

The sheriff’s office previously said it thought she might be driving the car, which has pink accents.

Gumina’s mother, Joanna Russell, told local press that the children have not heard from her daughter, whom she described as a loving mother and wife, since her disappearance.

She had recently been released from the hospital after breaking her collarbone, Russell told reporters.
