Arrest Made In Death Of NYC Chef Andrea Zamperoni ‘Angelina Barini’ Charged in 3 ‘Drug Deaths’

QUEENS, NY. (THECOUNT) — Law enforcement sources identified Angelina Barini, as the woman under arrest in connection to three deaths, including head chef of a well-known NYC restaurant, Andrea Zamperoni, who was found dead last week.

Barini, 41, is facing charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one or more substances containing fentanyl, according to documents.

An indictment says she is linked to the recent deaths of three men in Queens: A July 4 death at the Airway Inn at LaGuardia, a July 11 death at the Crown Motor Inn in Woodside and the Aug. 21 death at the Kamway Lodge in Elmhurst — identified in the court documents as John Doe 3, reports ABC7NY.

A man was found in the first floor room of the Kamway Lodge in Jackson Heights Wednesday night, police said. Officers arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene, cops said. The body, which was found wrapped in a blanket in one of the rooms, is believed to be Andrea Zamperoni, a chef at Grand Central Terminal’s Cipriani Dolci, reports PIX11.

Zamperoni was last seen at his apartment in Elmhurst, Monday afternoon, police said.

When the 33-year-old chef didn’t show up at work for his Monday shift, concerned colleagues thought it was strange and alerted authorities.

According to co-workers, the Italian immigrant has not missed a day of work without prior warning in the decade he’s worked for the company.
