Large Police Presence Converging On Milpitas CA ‘Great Mall’ Sunday Night ‘Avoid Area’

MILPITAS, CA. (THECOUNT) — A large contingent of Milpitas, California police have converged on the Great Mall Sunday night.

Police are advising people to avoid the area of the Great Mall.

Officers are on scene and investigating reports from social media and other sources that shots were fired at the shopping center. At 8:32 p.m., police tweeted that those reports are “unconfirmed at this time.” Police minutes later tweeted that there was no evidence a shooting occurred, reports NBCBAYAREA.

Police have asked those inside the mall to shelter-in-place while officers search the inside of the mall.

No other information was immediately provided by officials.
