EAST ST. LOUIS, IL. (THECOUNT) — An Illinois State Police officer was shot Friday morning while serving a search warrant near Washington Park.
The incident occurred near 1426 North 42nd Street and Caseyville Ave where several police agencies including Illinois State Police, East St. Louis Police and tactical units were observed on the scene of the Friday officer-involved shooting.
The officer’s condition was not provided by officials.
The Illinois State Police confirms that while serving a warrant at the home the officer was shot during execution, reports FOX2NOW.
Police have taken several people into custody, but no arrests have been made at this time.
